Last Campus Sitting

Sac State is the last CSU to continue to occupy their administration building. We are going into our 30th hour of occupation. This will be the second time that we will spend the night in Sacramento Hall, there are about 20 students who are willing to stay, so our numbers have grown. We are spending a second night because we are waiting for President Gonzalez’s response to our demands (listed in a seperate post) to be published on the Sac State website. We know that our power lies in our ability to stay, and we don’t want to lose our momentum. Also we understand that our sit in is an example to other Universities of what they can accomplish, and we hope to inspire the continuation of the student movement against budget cuts.

We had massive support today from our faculty who brought hundreds of students from their classes to Sacramento Hall, and also from the students who showed up during the course of the day. We have been receiving widespread support from all over the nation. And its good to know that so many people know our story and support us.

Thank you to all of those who have been following us on facebook, twitter, and the news.

Pictures of our activities will be posted tonight.
